Who made your jewellery?
The studio was founded in 1986 on the island of Bali in Indonesia. It began as a small studio with the aim of producing unique, high-quality jewellery. Indonesians have been making jewellery and decorative accessories from precious metals for centuries. Although many silversmiths have had no formal training, their natural talent and the knowledge and skills passed down from their ancestors have enabled them to create delicate and intricate pieces for ceremonial, personal and commercial purposes. The studio's philosophy is clear and simple. Based on respect for other people, their character, their culture and their religion, the studio strives to improve the lives of its employees. It started with a vision to raise the morale of the silversmiths, improve conditions and introduce a fair wage policy. The aim was to create a pleasant and stress-free working environment that offered a good quality of life for all. This was promoted by introducing an ‘open management style’ where everyone is respected and listened to. A company is only as successful as its employees are happy. In the beginning, the studio grew from a tiny seedling to a towering tree. Through solid production and trade, it quickly became one of the biggest and best mass producers and exporters of handmade 925 sterling silver jewellery in Bali.
